Classes

Utah Concealed Carry Permit – The Utah Concealed Firearm Permit is one of the most coveted concealed permits in the nation.  The Utah Concealed Permit has reciprocity and recognition in 32 states (See the Resources Tab for a detailed list of these States).  The class length is a minimum of four hours of classroom instruction.  The class will cover the curriculum set forth by the State of Utah.  The cost of the class is $40.00 per student.  Payments will be accepted at the start of each class.

The instructor reserves the right to deny approval of a student for any reason such as their attitude or lack of aptitude.  It is expected that students have a working knowledge of handguns prior to the attendance of this class.  For those who need extra instruction, the instructor will provide additional coaching. 

The class will include: a set of finger print cards, photo and the application to be submitted to the Utah BCI.  This is a class; we are not the entity that issues the permit.  Once a student has successfully completed the class and has the instructor’s stamp of approval, the student will have up to 12 months to submit their packet to the BCI.  The student will need to submit their payment of $46.00 (For Utah residents) or $51.00 (for non-residents) to the BCI along with their paperwork from the class for the permit application process.  The BCI will conduct a background check for the applicant and if the applicant passes, it can take up to 60 days to receive the permit.

NRA FIRST Steps Pistol Orientation:

NRA FIRST Steps Pistol is designed to provide a hands-on introduction to the safe handling and proper orientation to one specific pistol action type for classes of four or fewer students. This course is at least three hours long and includes classroom and range time learning to shoot a specific pistol action type. Students will learn the NRA’s rules for safe gun handling; the particular pistol model parts and operation; ammunition; shooting fundamentals; cleaning the pistol; and continued opportunities for skill development. Students will receive the Basics of Pistol Shooting handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure, Winchester/NRA Marksmanship Qualification booklet, FIRST Steps Course completion certificate.  The price for this class is $60.00.  The instructor will provide the firearms, ammo, hearing/eye protection and range fees.

NRA Basic Pistol Shooting Course:

This course is at least 8-hours long and includes classroom and range time learning to shoot revolvers and semi-automatic pistols. Students learn NRA’s rules for safe gun handling; pistol parts and operation; ammunition; shooting fundamentals; range rules; shooting from the bench rest position, and two handed standing positions; cleaning the pistol; and continued opportunities for skill development. Students will receive the NRA Guide to the Basics of Pistol Shooting handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure, Winchester/NRA Marksmanship Qualification booklet; take a Basics of Pistol Shooting Student Examination, and course completion certificate.  The price for this class is $115.00.  The instructor will provide the firearms, ammo, hearing/eye protection and range fees.

NRA Basic Rifle Shooting Course:

This course is at least 14 hours long and includes classroom and range time learning to shoot rifles.  Students learn NRA's rules for safe gun handling; rifle parts and operation; ammunition; shooting fundamentals; range rules; shooting from the bench rest, prone, sitting, standing and kneeling positions; cleaning, and continued opportunities for skill development.  Students will receive the Basics of Rifle Shooting handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure, Winchester/NRA Marksmanship Qualification booklet, take a Basics of Rifle Shooting Students Examination, and course completion certificate.  The price for this class is $130.00.  The instructor will provide the firearms, ammo, hearing/eye protection and range fees.

NRA Basic Rifle First Steps Orientation Course:

Short Description:  Firearm Instruction, Responsibility and Safety Training - is the NRA's response to the American public's need for a firearm orientation program for new purchasers.

AR-15/M-16A2/M-4 Carbine Course: 

This course is designed to build the student's knowledge from beginner to the moderate/advanced skill level for operator use and marksmanship.  This course will go over all points of firearm safety, storage, the history of the AR-15 platform, parts identification & operation, disassembly/reassembly, maintenance, proper cleaning techniques, ammunition, magazines and proper care for the magazines, loading/unloading/clearing, react and clear malfunctions, shooting fundamentals, how to properly zero and make sight adjustments and battle sight zero.  Students will learn to zero from the supported position and will fire from the prone, kneeling and standing positions.  The classroom materials will be provided for each student by the instructor.  Students will need to bring an AR-15 style rifle, magazines and 50 rounds of ammunition for live fire qualification at the range.  For the students who do not have an AR-15 style rifle, the instructor will have one on site for students to use.  There will be an extra fee for the use of the firearm and ammunition.  Students will pay for the range fees.  Upon successful completion of the course, students will be given a certificate of completion.  The course will run 6-8 hours and the maximum number of students is 6.  (1)For those who have their own AR-15 style rifle & ammo, the cost of the course is $150.00 plus range fees.  (2) For students who do not have an AR-15 style rifle, the cost of the course is $200.00 plus range fees.  Preregistration is required for this course!

Arizona CCW Course: 

This course is 3 hours of classroom instruction.  The course will include handgun safety, shooting fundamentals, loading/unloading, clearing malfunctions, firearm and ammo storage, types of ammo, holsters and concealed carry methods, weapons laws, self-defense laws to include use of force, permit application with instruction, fingerprint cards and much more.  Students will bring their own firearm and a minimum of 50 rounds for the live fire exercise at the range.  Students will receive a course completion certificate after the range portion of the class is successfully completed.  Students will provide: hearing/eye protection, ammo, personal firearm and range fees.  The instructor will provide everything needed for the classroom portion of the course (including permit application).  Please do not bring firearms or ammo into the classroom.  The cost of this course is $50.00.

Combined Course for the Utah & Arizona Concealed Carry Permits: 

This course will cover the requirements needed for both the Utah and Arizona concealed firearm permits.  The classroom based portion of this course will be 5-6 hours long and will include a live fire exercise at a local range.  The instructor will provide the application packets for both Utah and Arizona, passport quality photo, fingerprint cards and student CD with all the information covered in the classroom.  The students will need to bring their own firearm, a minimum of 50 rounds of ammunition, hearing/eye protection and will pay for their range fees.  The cost for this course is $75.00.

Florida CCW Course:

Course is 4 hours of classroom instruction and will include a live fire training exercise at the range.  The course will include handgun safety, shooting fundamentals, loading/unloading, clearing malfunctions, storage of firearms and ammunition, types of ammo, holsters and methods to carry concealed, weapons laws, Florida Statutes, permit application and application instruction, passport quality photo, fingerprint instruction and much more.  Students will bring their own firearm and a minimum of 50 rounds for the live fire exercise at the range.  Students will receive a course completion certificate after the range portion of the class is successfully completed.  Students will provide: hearing/eye protection, their own firearm, ammo and range fees.  The instructor will provide everything needed for the classroom portion of the course (including permit application).  Please do not bring firearms or ammo into the classroom.  The cost of this course is $75.00.

Active Shooter:  Coming Soon! 

We have seen too many cases of mass shootings and tragic loss of life in recent years.  This course will teach students how to react to an active shooter situation at work, schools and other public areas.  Students will learn counter measures from an unarmed by-standard to carrying a concealed firearm and how to react in these situations.

Utah Hunter Education Course: 

The Utah Hunter Education program helps you learn essential safety skills and develop practical techniques useful for hunting.  Completion of a basic hunter education course is required to obtain a hunting license in Utah if you were born after Dec. 31, 1965.  All courses offered by the Utah Hunter Education program are nationally recognized.  We specialize in the Hunter Education Course - online/field day.  For more information, please visit Utah Hunter Education.

Range Safety Officer: 

NRA Certified Range Safety Officer (RSO).  Available to assist in the safe operation of running a range for a club, competition shoot or just added safety for a fun day out shooting with friends and family.

Instructor Range Visit: 

This course is for shooters who are interested in one-on-one instruction at the range.  Instruction will cover the fundamentals of the firearm the shooter is interested in using and will have a coaching role for the shooter.  The instructor will assist in the shooters strengths and areas that need to improve.  The cost for this course is $50.00 and a minimum of 2 hours, depending on the progress of the student.  Students will use their own firearm, ammo and range fees will be paid by the students.
